Ballot Measures, Including Statewide Propositions
Ballot Measures and Propositions are proposed laws presented to the public to vote on. Propositions can make new laws, change existing laws, and sometimes they change California’s Constitution. When you vote on ballot measures, you are voting directly on laws that you might want or not want. It’s important that you use your power to be heard on these issues.
The State League provides unbiased explanations of the state ballot measures and the arguments for and against each measure to help voters make informed decisions. The State League also produces an Easy Voter Guide in five languages, including English and Spanish, which provides information on why to vote, how to vote, and what is on the ballot in a short, easily readable style.
